The star of Bethlehem that my grandfather made

My grandfather made this star that's hanging at church. People then wrote prayers on cloth and wove it through the chicken wire.

It's done 'till next year

Yup, it's all over until next year. I have a lot of favorite moments from seeing the kids faces when opening presents, the 4 year old niece leading the singing and everybody going home. It is a lot of work to do all the decorating, shopping, house cleaning and entertaining. It seem like it goes by way to fast and sometimes it's a let down but per times it's like Ahhh it's done and I can kick back with an appletine.

So I'm off to have a few appletine. Actually I'm off to bed.

The house and kid free

The house is now starting to look normal. No more stepping on crayons and legos while trying not to swear like a monkey. This will only will stay clean for today as tomorrow the kids show up again only to destroy it yet again. I do not think I was this messy as a child but what do I know I never cleaned up after myself when I was 4.

So tomorrow it will be back to stepping on things and the famous question of Why to everything. But life would be pretty boring for a childless adult if they didn't show up and cause major destruction in my life. For the parents of these kids it must be pretty funny watching me handle the kids. I return them with no broken bones, maybe a bump or two from letting them jump on the bed like monkeys. But I keep them safe and when in public keep them very close so the crazies don't take them. With the never ending Whys only family could handle it.

3 adults and 2 children = a diasater

My parents are in town and for the past 3 days we had my niece and nephew over. It looks like toys threw up all over my house. We were stepping on Legos, crayons and who knows what else while trying not to say the bad words. Which is pretty hard when your not used to having kids around.

Baths, cutting food, bedtime and the never ending Why is exhausting. They wake up with a full battery and its still full when they go to bed.

Going to work for 40 hours a week is so much easier then watching 2 kids. It's a wonder how my parents did it. I'm beginning to think that's why duct tape was invented.

But they are cute and I love them to death and I wouldn't trade them for the world. I don't think it'd be a fair trade since they are so needy.

Wrapping presents

I'm beginning to think wrapping presents is overrated. You pay all that money for wrapping paper and tape only to have someone tear it off to get to the good stuff. The gift is more enjoyable than the paper.

Lets face it most little kids can't open presents and their parents have to. So why not just leave the presents in the bag from the store. I'm sure the retailers can make the bags decorative so you don't have to wrap. It would make life easier.

Xmas cards

I wrote out my cards last night. I planned on going to the post office to get stamps and mail them. Well I started to put on the return address labels, which I normally don't use and I put them where the stamp goes. So I peeled them off and put them on the correct side. I was too lazy to redo the envelopes and I didn't press down too hard when I stuck them, so they came off pretty easy. Now the trick will be to see if they stay on.

Not sure what happened but my mind is kind of blank

Seems like my mind is blank. I know there's something up there. The hamster appears to be going a little slower than usual. I think I need to spin that wheel myself and wake him up.

I haven't had a candle party this month nor have I had anyone sign up under me since the summer. In time I know it will happen. I just need to work it.

It also seems like I have not been writing as much. Again I need to spin that wheel and make the hamster work a little harder. Maybe he thinks because the holidays are so close that he doesn't need to help make the brain work.
