Wild West Town

Last weekend I went to Wild West Town with one of my oldest and dearest best friend and her son. Here are some pictures. We had a blast. The pictures show the fun. So much 2 of us ended up in their jail. We had to sing and dance to get out.

The gym, shoes and a plastic bag

My boyfriend and I decided to go to the gym tonight. Well his shoes were in a plastic bag that was sitting on top of the garbage can in the garage. Well he asked me to grab it which I did. We get to the gym and he goes to change his shoes and there is only one in the bag. So we look down the hall at the f and don't see it. Well he decides to wear his dirty shoes. We work out and leave. His shoe is not in the car. Once at home we see the shoe sitting on top of the garbage can. It fell out when I grabbed it. I didn't notice at all. It was me being blonde.

Does not watching movies make me weird

When people start talking about movies I'm at a loss. I don't watch movies. So I cannot add anything to the conversation. Then when people ask me if I have a seen a certain movie and I say no I don't watch movies. They look at me like I'm some type of freakish alien. I can think of so many other things to do with 2 hours. Like go hiking, go to the Chicago Botanic garden or a museum.

The last movie I watched was Cars and that was a few years ago when I was on vacation with my brother, sister-in- law and their kids. Of course it wasn't just watching it once it was multiple time on he plane alone.

For 5 years I worked for Blockbuster. As get this an assistant manager. Prior to that I worked in my mom and aunts video store for about 3 years. I watched some movies. Not a lot but I'd watch like 4 a month. Which is not a lot. But I still managed to be able to give reviews on all the movies.

As a teenager in the 1980's I'd watch all the John Hughes movies. I do own some of them like Pretty in Pink, 16 Candles and a few others. I watch other movies as well. But heck I was a teenager and it was one of the things we did.

So am I alone this this. Or am I a some headless alien.

Life long friends

I love hanging out with my BFF. No matter how long it has been since we have talked or have seen each other we pick it right up. But we have know each other since we were 12. Hard to believe it will be 30 years next year.

We hung out yesterday with her son at an old west town. It was great and a lot of fun. We panned for gold, rode the train, the canoe rides and dressed up in old clothes and took a picture.

My grammar. Yes it sucks donkey balls.

I don't claim to be a scholar. I do like to write but writing correctly is not something I do real well. I am not find of always having to commas, etc.

My spelling has always been awful. My senior year in high school we had vocabulary workbooks. My English teacher thought it would be good not only test us on the definitions of the words but the spelling as well. We had to get 100% on the spelling. Well I would be after class retaking the test. Of course I would spell the word I got wrong right but then I'd misspell another word.

I don't have an editor following me around so you'll have to see what comes out. Because sometimes I saw it write something that comes out funny.

The city and homeless people

I always feel bad for the homeless people. I do volunteer work at my church helping them. But while in the city today we were walking in a park and there were quite a few homeless people sleeping. One had all just stuff on a bench and was he was standing in shorts. He then started to put on jeans and a shirt.

We continued on our walk and we see one peeing on a tree. We both chuckled to ourselves while we walked out of the park and they guy goes to lay back down on his cardboard bed. Yes I said cardboard bed.

It is just another chapter of what I see.

Gold Canyon Candle convention

So I decided I was going to go to the Gold Canyon Candle convention. It is in Phoenix Az. I figured since I am an independent fragrance consultant I should go. Plus the fact I want out of my full time job. So with all these heat waves I'm thinking am I nuts. I have been watching the temps down there and it has been around 108 for like ever. Granted I live in the Chicago land area we can get down to -108. Ok a little over kill but it gets cold here.

I'm thinking I need to buy some very skinny outfits to wear so I don't melt. Of course after being there for 5 minutes I may be a puddle of liquid.

Maybe by the time I leave on August 1st some fluke cold front will come through. I'm not counting on it because it's Phoenix not Chicago. At least here I know it can snow anytime.
